ARTPORTUNITY KNOCKS TAKES CONCERT TOUR TO KUWAIT TO HONOR MILITARY

Atlanta, GA – ArtportunityKnocks, Advancing The Kingdom Of God Ministries, and PS21Media Group have partnered again for yet another conert in honor of our military.

On Tuesday May 1, 2012, Artportunity Knocks and friends will embark on a two week tour of Camp Buehring, Camp Virginia, and Camp Arifjan to present various forms of gospel music to over 20,000 troops.

The concert program is being filmed and will feature traditional, pop, rock, neo-soul, rhythm & praise and hip-hop music, comedy, and short tributes by speakers representing the military, veteran’s groups, and the organizing committee. Also in the works, are performances at several other military facilities within the states and even more overseas. Stay tuned to these companies as they set forth to make a mark in Inspirational entertainment the likes of which has yet to be seen.

4 Shows and over 50 artists 1 amazing week!!!!

First and foremost, wanted to say it was great seein’ ya’ll in person
again in Atlanta. God has been doin’ big things in all our lives and using
hip hop to reach people that might not necessary be reachable.  I know my
wife (Larissa Lam) and I have been busy doin’ concerts, worship services,
and regular appearances on JCTV and film projects.  It was encouraging to
see you all pushing forward as well.

The other thing I wanted to email ya’ll about is the Dove Awards.  I think
we were all in shock that Lecrae didn’t win.  Nothing agains Group 1 Crew.
They have great music and I love those guys and they are friends of mine.
In fact, planning on grabbin’ dinner with Manwell real soon here in LA.
But I think we are wondering…with Toby Mac raving bout him, press from
CNN, and the crowd screaming when Lecrae’s name was mentioned at the
Doves…how did he not win?

Well, I told Lecrae and one of his producers that I voted for him for the
Doves and Larissa voted for him for the Grammys.  But who else did?  Did
his peers vote for him?  There were a ton of Christian rap artists out at
GMA this year…performing at all our different showcases…and even more
that didn’t come out.  How many of us voted?  Did you know that you don’t
even need to be a GMA member to receive or be nominated for a Dove?  There
are even previous Dove hip hop winners/nominees that are not GMA members
that can’t even vote for themselves.

If we want hip hop in it’s purest form to be recognized in the future,
especially with GMA, we need to all become members.  This is not
expensive.  GMA has lowered membership fees to only $25/yr as an iMember.
Larissa and I are now on the GMA Connect LA committee cuz GMA is trying to
revive Christian music.  Guess who was the most memorable person after our
first meeting in LA?  Me…Only Won.  Why?  Not just cuz I’m Chinese.  Not
cuz I’ve been doing music for 20 years.  But cuz I was the ONLY rapper
that showed up to the meeting.  So the president and the GMA committee saw
me at the Doves and other GMA events and acknowledged me.  Little “Only
Won”…who sold less than 1000 albums last year.  GMA is ready to
recognize us and if they see that we recognize them by joining, it is
going to make a big statement about how serious we are about presenting
the Gospel through hip hop.  There seems to still be a lot of division
amongst us and negativity towards GMA.  But we ARE GMA.  We are Gospel
Music.  Why not join and be a part of their Association?

Anyways, I just wanted to share this with you all since you are all major
promoters of Gospel Hip Hop, Christian Rap, Holy Hip Hop, or just rap from
the perspective of a follower of Christ.  Together, I think we can and
will be heard. If you guys want to keep this dialog going, just reply.
Would love to get your take.  You guys know a lot more artists than I do.
If you think we can all join together to change GMA, I hope you will reach
out to all your peeps to join and vote next year.
